Tom;

I think it's obvious that Hugh just had it in for Pickering and his sole purpose in writing this tripe was to diminish Pickering's wonderfully-creative, drunken contributions to the golf course.

His firing a short time after the routing was completed meant that his contributions would be silenced forever.  I understand in a fit of rage, and with Wilson standing on the edge of the 17th tee, Pickering came running at Wilson, stumbled, missed, and was never seen again.  I believe there was some talk about naming the hole "Pickering's Last Charge", but the Valley of Sin feature at the front of the green made the nomenclature too redundantly obvious.

Au contraire young Mike:

Pickering, despite his immoral ways, was a hard man to do without. In fact, Pickering not only remained as Merion East's foreman but he also became the foreman for a time at Merion West until a point when he became so drunk, and during a stage of constant fits of laughter while working on quirky corner when he reeled backwards next to the creek on #7 and damn nearly drowned. At that point Wilson replaced him as foreman with Flynn. But even that was not the end of Pickering. Our agronomy letters indicate Wilson may have considered him one more time while working on Seaview.

SPDB,

It depends on what your definition of "advised" is.

Tommy Naccarato,

I'm saying that Fazio provided a plan or routing for the Friar's Head property, pre C&C.  And, that Fazio spoke to interested parties/representatives at/of the Friar's Head property.

How much is the wager for ?

And, why did you have to check with Kenny before responding ?

Pat,
First you said  “Did Fazio visit the site?  Yes    Did he talk to Ken Bakst?  Yes”

Now you say   “I'm saying that Fazio provided a plan or routing for the Friar's Head property, pre C&C.  And, that Fazio spoke to interested parties/representatives at/of the Friar's Head property.”

Seems like it’s you that is waffling on your facts!

So I ask you once again if this was a correct and factual statement made by you?  “Did he (Fazio) talk to Ken Bakst?  Yes”

BTW I didn't have to check with Kenny before responding because I already knew all the facts I needed to know.  I was just trying to make sure we had an agreement on the terms of the wager! ;D

Doesn't a Principal's Nose feature require picking a direction?
Also, doesn't the preferred direction need to be the most hazardous?

If so, how does the old fifth hole mimick the Principal's Nose?

Kyle,

You can pick a direction, but don't pick a Principal's Nose  ;)

Tom,

I do not require a reminder.  A meltdown?  You exaggerate.  It is more to do with exaspiration as a result of your conclusions.  I have not come around to anything and remain consistant about a lack of specifics precluding conclusions.  Fell free to continue to do so.
