C'mon now, did you really read the courses that Kyle and I were discussing?

I'm not sure we could put the words "Gilbertsville Golf Club", or "Arrowhead Golf Course" (there is a sign for it right on the edge of my property) and "golf course architecture" in the same sentence and maintain a straight face.  

No, instead I've been busy researching what those little pixies like Travis and Emmett, and probably even Crump and Colt were up to in those early years.

Do you know, Tom, that George Crump lived out by himself on the PV property for over four years and only had male visitors and companionship??

I mean, c'mon...we all love the game and I can be as obsessive about it as anyone but not enough to go to some self-imposed penal colony (no pun intended) without female conjugal visits.  

We talk about "collaboration" but exactly how long does it take to say, "ok here's a tee, let's put the green over there, and then go to the next hole"?

What exactly were all of those male "collaborators" doing out there in the woods all those hours?  

By the way, I just see that this is my 5000th post.  Sheesh, what a post to mark that dubious accomplishment with!

Either way, The KBM Course: I believe it's called Heritage Creek, it's next to a retirement community, and I've heard his name attached to its design.

With such fine architectural specimens that Mike and I have been talking about in the rural Montco/Bucks County vacuum of golf, would you expect anything less? Relax though, I'm almost done my essay on Rolling Green...

By the way, what town is Heritage Creek in?

Heritage Creek is in Jamison, PA... Northampton Township. It's right off of York Road where it crosses the Neshaminy Creek coming up from Warminster. Between Bristol and Almshouse before you go up the hill. Speaking of which, how do you feel about Bucks County Country Club? I like the front a lot and detest the back... I have a feeling you feel the same way.  

Club 18 in Pottsville, Marrone's in Girardville (where my parents met) and Rocky's in Frackville are where I can typically be found after a round at Mountain Valley or when visiting the family.

Is Heritage Creek going to be a private golf course community?

I went to Gloomsburg U.  Spent 5 and half of the best years of my life there.  

The mid-section holes on the back nine at Bucks County are new and I love the first two of them (the short driveable par four with the center bunkering, and the long, uphill par three to a wild green).  Then they sort of ran out of room due to the reason for the changes in the first place....the addition of a new housing community on the course.

Yeah, the first two holes on the back side are from the old back nine, as are 17 and 18.

The mid stretch would be alright without the potato chip greens and housing.

Got two great friends of mine from HS at Bloom, not a bad place... of course, anything within an hour and half of PSU isn't bad. :-D

Of course I've played White Birch...trickiest 5 stimp greens I've ever played, let me tell you. How about Rolling Meadows in Mowry? They have one of those "Must play left of the pole or you are OB" holes that we all love so dearly!

How about Mountain Valley...? That is arguably one of my favorite courses on the planet, a lot of really solid holes, cheap, and never gets old. I try to get back there at least once a month - as it could be one of the best deals in PA, if not the northeast.

Where is Rolling Meadows?  My parents live at Eagle Rock, so I'm up in that area frequently.  I donn't like the course at Eagle Rock, so I usually play at Sugarloaf.

I haven't made it to Mtn Valley yet.  I'll try to check it out this spring/summer.

I would absolutely LOVE to take you to Mountain Valley, I like it much better than Eagle Rock. Mountain golf at its finest. My family is from the area so I am up there a lot and always up for the trip, especially for a GCAer. It's something like $25 to walk on weekends, though that may have gone up to around $30. Still a steal. Also, $1.25 Yuengling drafts...

Rolling Meadows is west a bit off of Rt. 61/54 west of Ashland and near Lavelle. It's on the road between Lavelle and Trevorton. Not really worth the drive other than for some amusement, it's on par with White Birch.
