JakaB:

I take it this course was done by your brother Ken Kavanaugh. ( correct me if I'm wrong ) From the website scorebook renderings it looks like the kind of course most of us here at GCA would wax poetic about. Any additional info you might have would be appreciated. The treehouse gang here on this site should check it out at www.rochelleranch.com.

Thanks A,

There is currently a thread about the role of municipal golf...this little jewel is $25 all day on the weekends....and yes it will be cause for new golfers to enter the game.   Funny thing how courses like this fit the GolfClubAtlas model of praise it but don't play it....

John,

RR is not exactly down the street from, well, pretty much anyone.  It's a little tough to get to.  Denver is at least 3 hours away and there's only one guy from there on GCA.  I'd love to play it, but I don't have any trips to south central Wyoming planned anytime soon.  No offense to SC Wyoming.

The course just came into our consciousness a few months ago, and it's winter.  When were you expecting someone to have played it in that time?

Scott,

All I asked was if a Golfweek rater who was in the area and I have had stay at my house, cooked dinner for him and his lovely wife and consider a friend was going to see this course on his trip from Aspen to Bandon....we will see..Hey, I fault no one for not seeing this course, I'm the architects brother and I doubt if I ever will.

How do you know he isn't going to play it?  He hasn't said so (at least publicly).

note:  If the architecture in the ground at Rochelle Ranch is not superior to Sutton Bay I will have Golfweek tatooed on my ass at the GCSAA convention next year in New Orleans...It might be one way to get the rater types to pass on the PGA Show and go to a real convention..
