I just picked up 'Grounds for Golf' at a local bookstore (used and new) for $6...I figure at that price, even if it stinks  :) it's a bargin!

Well, you got a bargain and a great book.  In my opinion, it's one of the best modern books on golf architecture.

There are some wonderful diagrams by Gil Hanse throughout the book as well.  It is a rare find in that it is enjoyable by the GCA junkies as well as the casual golf observer.

Craig-

Check out the list of golf books available for cheap at:

www.bookcloseouts.com

You can sort on their home page for golf-related books. Typically they have 150-200 golf-related titles in stock.

Many of the books they have deserve to be remaindered, but there are usually a few good ones available in their inventory. I believe Geoff S's book is available for $6.

Superb book one of his best IMHO.  I lend it out to anyone thinking of learning about GCA for the first time.

Craig,
This is a great book; you'll really enjoy it.
The breakdown of chapters as "holes" is imaginative, the sketches by Hanse are superb, Geoff's "personal favorites" make for interesting reading, and his thoughts on the making of "Rustic Canyon" are words which anyone on this site should enjoy.
And for the price you paid, you're laughing all the way to the bank!
