Do I detect another strong bias by GCA's, this one against women golfers?

If that's the case, shame on you guys :'(
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Cary:

No bias here whatsoever against women golfers - I love them - especially those who are good at the game.  I just tend not to meet many women golfers at all, and I believe I've met maybe three in my life who are less than 18 handicaps.  I do lead a sheltered golf life.

What I do have a bias against is golf-hating wives.

Tom,
Very well said.

My wife loves golf and golf architecture as much as I do, thank God..

I remember dating many years ago, and I was having dinner with a gal that said, "She hates how so many men leave their wifes to go golfing".  I never saw her again, and somehow I lost her number!   :P

Bill:

My wife had surgery in yesterday by Dr. Stegman in Vail. We are there now, boy, I sure don't miss the cold.

I'm going to try to talk her into comming to Tampa next week with her crutches. Maybe she will get alot of sympathy.

She can not play for 3 months, what a bummer :'(

A couple things:

1. To Mr. Benham - you have been utilized for this purpose as well, fellow alum.  Somehow "golf with some Santa Clara guys" goes over with less eyebrow raising than "golf with guys I met on the internet."   ;)

2. To Dan H.:  just do understand that my own wife hates golf.  Sometimes I wish it were different, sometimes I kinda like that we have our own separate interests.  In any case my bias here is that there is no way on God's green earth I bring her on a golf trip, not as I define that term anyway.  Louie Schmidt knows what I mean.

My wife and I are planning to be at Bandon Aug 1-4 for 4 days of golf. Why don't you and your wife join us there, and any other interested CGA's.

Cary:

If we aren't going there in June for our anniversary I'd say we're a strong possibility.  I'm really excited to be able to play BT.

Tom - I don't disagree at all.  Taking a wife that hates golf on a golf trip would be a pretty horrible experience for all.

Why have a wife that hates golf?

Suggest trade in for single digit player ;D

Cary:

Now that is one hell of a great question, one that I do consider from time to time.  Know any single digit females willing to be a homewrecker?   ;D ;D ;D

But as I say, well... the good does outweigh the bad... and it is fun in a way to have a separate interest.  As I stay away from decorating and remodeling, she stays away from golf... and we're both happy that way.  As you can imagine, too much interest from the uninformed party could really muck things up for the addicted one.

I know 2 single digit females and one who is about a 15 handicap.

One is a knockout but major, major league high maintenance ;D, one is too old, and the other is a cutie and a barrel of laughs.
