No,  it isn't any worse.  I do not see the situation becoming worse.  

There will be an ebb and flow but the tide will always rise higher and higher,  eroding the old classics.  First only one course is modernized,  then another and then you turn around and every course is   Ross, Jones, Fazio, new guy, newer guy.

The younger golfers need to make an honest effort to play the classics, if you have an interest in GCA.  They will not be here when you reach 50.   At the worst,  a polite request will be courteously turned away.

The governing bodies apparently have no interest in this matter.
