Thanks for posting this! Really enjoyed the read. Strantz's work at Caledonia/True Blue got me interested in golf course architecture in high school, and Tobacco Road pushed me over the edge into borderline obsession. I hope to one day play the MP shore course and sit where Strantz sat those afternoons.


Enjoyed getting to know a little about Fezler as well. Had heard the name but admit I wasn't overly familiar with him.

Glad you were able to get your cursor on the links! I forget that the set-up always shrinks URLs to a silly degree.

I played Tobacco Road with Forest. We threw clubs over out shoulders and walked it. It was the same year it opened, so it was at a time when I could still play. It was very enjoyable as he told me they almost did this and they did that because.... He was a great host.
