Two prongs here: my wee web site will replay its 99 interviews over the next 99 days. Ran's efforts on GCA were certainly the model for conducting Q&A of my own. Prong #1 is that I hope you enjoy today's replay of George Bahto's interview. Prong #2 is, I'm looking for an interesting subject for that special, 100th interview. Message me off-thread if you have ideas.
Happy New Year and Go Bills.

It was fulfilling to interview a dozen (we tried to get them all!) buffalo-niagara golf course superintendents. Leading the way, by example, was @WNYGCSA president Thad Thompson, of Terry Hills golf course in Batavia, NY.

Thanks, Ron - you've compiled a valuable 'library' there in your interviews. The Mike-Joe Cobb's Creek interview is terrific - an excellent snapshot of what the course was and can be again. And another tip of the hat to those two dedicated sportsman - in this day and age especially, fighting for a course created to serve those 'of slender purses' has both great practical and symbolic value.

Thanks, Peter...glad to hear that you enjoyed our interview with Ron.
We are very hopeful that 2018 may be a really good year on that front.
And thanks again to Ron for shedding some light on our project and asking some good, leading questions.

It's a selfish thing, I do, with these interviews. The student in me never graduates, but he takes a lot of courses!
Day 9 was Alex Myers of Golf Digest and Wake Forest. Really approachable guy that I've not met in person, but hope to, one day. Actually, that "not met in person" applies to most of our subject!!

Day 10 was Matty Du Plessis, a great grom out of Vermont, a Twitter Whisperer, and solid golfer

Day 11 is Chris Kulinski, PGA Professional at Walter Travis 16/18ths Orchard Park Country Club

Day 13 is the landscape photographer, Laurence Lambrecht. http://buffalogolfer.com/wordpress/2016-interview-series-photographer-laurence-lambrecht/ (http://buffalogolfer.com/wordpress/2016-interview-series-photographer-laurence-lambrecht/)
If you've seen a great golf course photograph, and we're talking framing, composition, angle, chances are it came from him.
Day 14 is Anthony Pioppi, writer of fine books, with The Finest Nines coming out soon. http://buffalogolfer.com/wordpress/2017-interview-series-anthony-pioppi/

After a golf architecture nut's dream run of Coore, Lambrecht and Pioppi, we go to a guy named Brand on day 15 of the #99Interviews run.

This willl set the record for “reply to yourself”. I’m guessing we could just go to your site without seeing the tophat.
-
As you've noticed, I've combined 2-3 interviews per post. I certainly can combine more, to reduce the number of posts. No need to inflict more top hat than necessary. After all, it ain't no cow bell.
-
Missed an opportunity to ask Dean about a ball rollback and how he would engineer it

Only so many questions, Cal. Didn't want to ask too many and didn't consider that one.

I’m still deliberating the merits (and demerits) of this website self-promotion, but it is definitely not OT, so I’ll keep looking for the mute button on my personal clicker.
I’m sure RoMo can tolerate my occasional bromides.

What I find perplexing is that RoMo is always complaining about wasting bandwidth. Provide a link to the Buffalo Golfer and not much else is required. Those that are interested will go to the site and those that aren’t won’t. There is virtually no feedback in the way of posts other than from RoMo alerting us to the next interview.

Easter is upon us, we can only hope for a death that isn't resurrected.
