Title: "The 17th is often noted as the course's No. 1 attraction"
Post by: Ronald Montesano on December 01, 2015, 10:25:44 PM
This is the opening salvo to a selection of the 16th at NGLA as one of Joel Beall's (no real idea who he is, other than a Golf Digest writer/contributor) 18 best holes in the world of golf. The link is here (http://www.golfdigest.com/gallery/the-18-undisputed-unchallenged-scientifically-factual-best-golf-holes-in-the-world)and the diversity of his selections is capable of starting a dispute of immeasurable fallout.

Would anyone call the 17th at NGLA the course's No. 1 attraction?

I think a lot of "normal" golfers automatically call the prettiest or most scenic hole on a golf course the "main attraction". And 17 at National is undeniably pretty. I wouldn't call it the number 1 attraction myself, but I can certainly see how non-GCA types might call it the course's "signature" hole.

Is this really how poor the fact checking is at GD. Crans in Switzerland which is represented by it's 7th (a mediocre hole on a mediocre course) was designed by Seve not Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus designed the 9 holer next door. What utter tosh!
