Apologies if somebody already did this but I don't recall seeing any thread/threads about where people might be hoping to see this year.
Anyway, if anyone would like to declare an interest in visiting a particular course or courses this year, or maybe courses of a particular genre, please feel free to post here. And feel free to give as much or as a little by way of explanation as you so choose.

I'm finally making the pilgrimage up to Dornoch in June which I'm very much looking forward to. 36 holes at Castle Stuart, a round at Skibo and hopefully Brora will complete the weekend. Lots of threads and wonderful photo tours as well as The Confidential Guide have made June feel like an awfully long time away.
By a country mile, however, number 1 on my wish list is Notts and Sherwood Forest in August for this year's BUDA. Roll on summer!

Greywalls, Warren Course, Black Forest, Olympia Fields South, Diamond Springs, Pilgrims Run, French Lick Ross, Quail Crossing, Culver Academy, West Bend, Blue Mound, Blythefield, Ozaukee, Maxinkuckee...
-
SE Arizona and New Mexico in March. My wish on life support is the King's Putter.
-
First ever trip to Bandon Dunes coming in late April. To say I'm excited would be just a bit of an understatement. We have a great and diverse large group coming from a few different areas of the country and it will be great to see faces I only see once or twice a year and also meet a couple new friends.
Also hoping to sneak over to French Lick sometime during the summer and take in the Ross course, it's been on my radar for a while and is an easy trip from the Cincy area.

Two words: Better scores!

I hate to admit it, but I have yet to play golf in Oregon. It is a huge omission on my part. I need to rectify that situation.

Jud, I'd really like to get to Warren too. We should definitely make arrangements for that come warmer weather.
-
Just had invite to spend a couple of days at Ballybunion in the summer. Also planning to visit Nebraska in the autumn.
-
BUDA as always. Then nothing yet planned though a business trip to Southern California in May May provide an opportunity for some golf.
-
The Ocean Course at Kiawah is the only thing I have lined up for 2015 as of now. A trip to the Pinehurst area or the two courses at Cabot are possibilities.
-
Not so much where I'd like play but something that I'd like to see happen - that using fairway irrigation systems on GB&I links and heathland courses* be made illegal and that watering of greens shall be by hand only. Wishful thinking unfortunately but one can always dream.
Atb
* tempted to say all courses!

I wish to visit a public space and not have to temper my stride so as to not disrupt someone's photography.
-
Prestwick
Dundnald Links
Western Gailes
Llanymynech (failure of '14)
Welshpool (failure of '14)
Formby Ladies
West Sussex (failure of forever)
Formby
Berkshire Red
I am going to Michigan in late August and will have time for a bit of golf so I would like to see one or two of Barton Hills, Orchard Lake or Bloomfield.
I am also going to North Carolina in late August and may be headed to Ashville. If so, I would like to play a Ross (can never go wrong with Ross) or two in Charlotte or some other cool course on the way to Ashville from Raleigh.
There are others which I am sure will pop up on the radar screen as the year progresses.
Ciao

Michael,
Considering you mention a trip to Dornoch and Brora also, I hope that Notts and Buda can live up to expectations...
Paul,
- Looking forwards to Formby in the spring!
- Also in the spring a trip to Skye were I hope to play Isle of Skye GC, might sneak (a long drive for a sneak but anyway) to Gairloch, and if the weather is kind, an outside chance of a ferry day trip to Askernish?
- I might try to target getting to see one of the heathlands around London that I havent seen yet? Worplesdon is a good candidate having recently missed out on a visit.
- Lastly, as mentioned above, I look forward to welcoming people to Notts for Buda (I will get around to organising this in more detail soon I promise!)
Cheers,
James

Don't miss Golspie. Really a terrific course, great par 3s and short par 4s.

Except for a mid-winter round with someone else's clubs and nasty hangover at Saucon Valley in 1994, I have yet to play any golf north of Philadelphia... hope to change that this summer with a trip to North Jersey. I'm most interested to see D. Ross' work at Plainfield and Mountain Ridge and am hoping to see the restoration/renovation at Hollywood.

Wayne, You will not be disappointed with Plainfield and Mtn Ridge- PCC is in my top 4 Ross designs - it's outstanding . Somerset Hills is in the neighborhood and well worth your time. Hope to see you back at Beverly this Summer. You may see a group of Bev guys in 2015 in SF- hope all is well!

Solution: Do not temper stride.
Van Morrison is playing two dinner shows in late August at Slieve Donard, a hotel right next to Royal County Down. It's a stretch, but it'd be fantastic to play Royal County Down in the morning and hang out with the Van fanatics in the evening.

After watching Cob Carlson's documentary on Ross, I realized just how few of his courses in Florida I'd played, so I set the goal to see more of them this year.
In addition, we make an annual trip to Vero Beach and I've never once taken the clubs. A number of good courses have been sitting there all these years.
The 5th Major is on my periphery. It conflicts with a couple of other trips around the same time, but in a perfect world I'd be able to pull off them all.
-
Ok, anyone wanna hook a guy up at Pine Valley or Shinnecock in May? Making a trip up from DC to Cold Spring Harbor.
-
My wife got me a gift certificate to Arcadia Bluffs for my birthday, and my father-in-law and I are going to Treetops. I've never played at either spot, so I'm looking forward to that, even if they don't have much architectural merit.
I'm hoping to play Belvedere again during vacation, and want to play more courses around Metro Detroit that I haven't played.
Would be great to play Kingsley and Forest Dunes this year, and on my frequent drives to Chicago, maybe I can play some courses in SW Michigan and around Chicago.
Performance-wise, I want to get my index into single digits.

Two words: Better scores!
Peter
I will agree with, Peter. This is my goal.
-
In no particular order:
Salem Country Club
Nanea Golf Club
Long Cove Club
Monterey Peninsula (Shore)
Hazeltine National
The Homestead (Cascades)
Holston Hills

Looking forward to finally seeing the number 1 and 2 courses in the world this year.
(sorry - had to gloat ;) )
Trump? ;D
-
Taking my daughter, now 3.5 years old, along for Saturday afternoon cart rides; preferably while golfing. Playing better in front of people. Especially GCA events. New Sticks. Loving the PING G30 line.
Oh, architecturally...
Doing the Ocean City NJ family trip again, which allows me 2 rounds. Looking to do Hidden Creek and Greate Bay this go round. Hit up some Indianapolis and Columbus courses as time and access allow. 5th Major unlikely. Hoping for Midwest Mashie redemption.

Point O'Woods, Ravisloe, Warren, Lincolnshire, Flossmoor, Streamsong Red & Blue, Brickyard Crossing during time trials.....if I hit up half of these will have been a solid year.
-
I've again got high hopes for the year, I think this list is fairly doable though... Augusta National (as a Masters patron), St Louis CC, Bellerive, Culver Academies (remodel), Bandon Preserve, The Country Club, Kittansett, Charles River, Old Sandwich, Punta Espada (since Matt Schulte says it's the best ;D).
-
My most important wish is that my second child (due in May) is born healthy. That above everything else.
I don't know if I'll be able to continue my travels this year, so if I'm not able to make it over to America then I'll try and do some of the courses I shamefully haven't played in the UK (Royal County Down in particular).
If I am able to make it to the US, then Fisher's Island is right at the top of my list, closely followed by LACC, Crystal Downs and Sand Hills - though those are more of a trek to get to.
I also hope to be able to meet and host more visitors to the London area, unfortunately work and family has made this more difficult in recent times.
-
My two sons are grown up, one is busy with his friends and the other is away working in Turkey and all of a sudden I have time.
So …. my wish is to find the “patience” and commitment to play every week throughout the year.
For a decade now I have played all my golf out of country.
My wish is to play more rounds withing two hours drive of home.
-
Well.... Since my wife and are spending 6 weeks in Scotland starting mid-May, I'm hoping my reapp for TOC is successful (I really really.want to play it again).
We have a friend with us the first three weeks. One week in East Lothian, one in Fife, one in Golspie.
Then we go to Nairn for a week.... planning to head SW after that.
So, other than replays, I'm hoping to see Crail, Macrihanish, Durness, Royal Duff House, Strathlene, and ......
Must-see replays include Dunbar, N. Berwick , TOC, Elie, Kingarrock, Fraserburgh, Dornoch, Golspie.
Not on other people's list that my wife and I like: Cullen, Nairn Dunbar, Tain...

My 2015 wish list
Boston:
- Salem
- Worcester
- Wannamoisett
Sand Hills
Friars Head (I haven't played there since 2006, when I was 15)
Garden City (my memory of it from my only round is foggy)
-
Wish list for 2015.
Back down to the West Country (UK) to play an all time favourite (Perranporth) once again and enjoy all those others on that wonderful stretch of coast line. North west coast of Ireland is also a must followed by a return visit to Royal County Down
-
As always I'm a really late planner, but I've started the dreaming which usually turns out in the end (somehow).
March:
Royal Birkdale
Hillside
Royal Liverpool
Formby
Royal Lythem
Then a few hours North
Renaissance Club
Castle Course (have to see what a Doak 0 looks like)
Trump International - maybe though I might be stretching it in terms of driving on this trip.
Turnberry - must see it before it goes under the knife.
Troon
Prestwick
Machrihanish
That's my warm up for national competition.
Then looking at a couple weekends away -
Hamburger Falkenstein - maybe Budersand
Ideally throwing in a weekend in Spain to see Valderrama.
September - October:
USA trip - not firmed up but aim would be to do a bit of a hop in hop out type of trip including:
Pinehurst
Kiawah Island
Seminole
Crystal Downs
Chicago Golf
Butler National
Prairie Dunes
Maybe on my to Oregon to visit my mom.
No comments please I know the geographic implications of such a trip and I know that some of those areas have tons of excellent golf to see. But time and resources won't allow extensive trips to each area. What would you expect from a guy from Oregon living in Amsterdam and commuting to work in Munich weekly 1000 km away.
Likely I may focus on two areas and skip some of the stragglers. ie. Prairie Dunes (saving it for another 5th Major visit some day) and perhaps Seminole saving it for an excuse to take my girlfriend to the beach.
Then there is that trip I need to plan to Tennessee.
...and I have Japan floating in the mist.
March on the other hand I already booked the tickets/rental car for, just have to arrange the golf but I'm meditating on it.
-
Sean, I should be very happy to meet up with you at Welshpool and Llanymynech if it's possible. If you can extend the journey north slightly I'm going tom suggest also throwing in Holywell.
-
Golf with the nephews at Sea Pines, hopefully a first visit to Bandon, and piggyback some work trips into rounds at Lawsonia and Rustic Canyon.
-
I am hoping to work in a summer trip to Erie, PA for a round(s) at the Kahkwa Club with my father-in-law, who only occasionally plays anymore, and his buddies. If one searches for mention of Kahkwa on GCA, a certain esteemed architect thinks highly of its greens, which on this site appears to be tantamount to Gospel.
A day out at Kahkwa with the members is a walking golf treat.
-
Greywalls, Warren Course, Black Forest, Olympia Fields South, Diamond Springs, Pilgrims Run, French Lick Ross, Quail Crossing, Culver Academy, West Bend, Blue Mound, Blythefield, Ozaukee, Maxinkuckee...
Jud - let me know when you head to Culver. It's been on my list forever. Looks like a museum piece.
-
Visiting family in Sweden and the UK this summer with an eye toward playing a round or two while I'm there. :) Falsterbo and Sunningdale are the most likely candidates at this point.
