What is not working for you?   I've never actually used the Insert Quote function.  It may have its application but I think most use the Reply with Quote function.

To use the reply with quote, don't hit the "Reply" button (at the bottom), rather the "Quote" button at the top (right of the subject).

Brett - Me too ... I 've been having to back out back to the actually thread and click "quote" there, cause it wasn't working on the reply screen for me either.

I use Safari on my MacBook

Brett,

Likewise I cannot quote and about a week ago the link disappeared off the home page of the forum that takes you to page 1 of threads... so continues the devolution.

Not working for me on a TR-S80.
Not working for me via PDP11/10
Also not working on an Alliant Fx/40
No go, unfortunately, on a VAX 6320.
Surprised it does not function on an IBM RS6000

But it does work on a Samsung Galaxy.  Go figure.

:)

What OS and version of Safari?  Snow leopard and Safari 5.0.3 work just fine.

Joe,
I think I need an interpreter.

John,

Leopard, along with Safari 5.0.3.

Do you run an anti-virus?  (Even though I know Macs don't get viruses)

Macs can get viruses, but it's way less likely.  I am living dangerously with no anti-virus protection at the moment.

Brett,
I found that this works for me. Before you open the "Reply" box and start typing, click on the "quote" icon for the text you want to insert. This action will automatically open a Reply box and add the quote. You can then start typing away.

If you find that you need to add another quote just open up a new page and follow the above direction. Once you have the second quote in its new reply box copy it and transfer it to your original reply. This action can be repeated for any number of quotes.

A bit of a pain, but it does work.
