Blimey they let the Hoi Polloi in for a day.  Can't think of any tournaments so it must have been an exhibition?  Today the gated access to the estate menas the area is very popular with Russina milinaires who value their privacy.

Was the professional at Rye Archie Simpson, who did some design work?
I didn't know that CK Cotton had started as a club secretary, it was the way into the trade for a no of GCA's
