I began my romance with the game of golf at the commencement of my last year as an undergraduate at U.C. Davis in the autumn of 2001. In those early days, as I was quite consistently horrid in terms of playing ability (I now enjoy transient periods of golfing competence), my enjoyment of the game was more directly correlated with where I was playing than how. Golf was a way of exploring new and exciting corners of the world, a structured journey with goals and rewards. It was also a great way for me to spend time with one of my closest confidants; a man who took up the game at the same time I did and shared my passion for the personal discovery of enthralling golf courses. Nearly all of my fondest golf memories have been forged in his company.
Thus, it is with great pride that I announce the newest member of the golfclubatlas discussion group and the source of my Y-chromosomes: Scott Henderson.
Welcome aboard, Pops!

Thank you, son. I appreciate the thought(s), but know what a smart-a__ you are so can only take this with a very large grain of some kind of salt.
-
If some day my son gives me such a tribute, I will be more than a little pleased.
Wait a minute, Kyle. Are you sure your Dad didn't steal your log-in info? ;)
-
Welcome aboard.
Is that the 12th at PG you are playing?
-
Ida thunk he would have showed the 10th at Peacock Gap. I has a par 3 and was beaten by two.
Welcome aboard.

That's impossible. My father knows absolutely none of my personal information.

Good eye. Naturally, he's flirting with the boundary markers that border #13.

Kyle, I thought that you had a specialized chromosome set given your self-anointed status as GCA Alpha Male. For those not in the know, a brief hole by hole of Scott versus Kyle:
Short Game - Scott
Pythons/gun show - Kyle by a mile
Wardrobe - Scott
Long Game - push
Hair - Scott
Neuroses - Kyle
Welcome aboard, Scott.

The "SPIRIT OF THE GAME" lives on.

Kyle,
How did you get Pop aboard, because MOM wants in.

Thank you Jon. I have enjoyed watching you and Kyle play golf while I do whatever it is that I do on the course. I like your evaluation of Kyle versus me, although I wonder about your rankings of the items that are really golf related. ::)

Nor do I want to know any of it! ;D

Why else would you have picked this photo?

I like to think I got in on my own merits, because I don't think Kyle has that much pull in the GCA. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Oh no...not another Henderson. This site really is going down hill now!! ;)
Welcome aboard Scott. I had the pleasure of meeting your son last year in Monterey. He seems like a fine boy and like Jon, I too noticed the "gun show" ;D

So, who's the brains of this outfit?

It has to be Kyle!

The "gun show" and my saying he is the brains is the result of his figuring out how to get a master's degree (and a job) in weight lifting! (Kyle is has an MS in Exercise Physiology and works as a Personal Trainer and Cardio Rehab Physiologist.)
Kyle's mother and I are proud of the way he turned out, hopefully it is related to the way we raised him.
I am looking forward to KP and renewing acquaintances with those members of GCA that I have had the pleasure of meeting, and meeting many others.
