Title: Knickerbocker in northern NJ
Post by: mark chalfant on March 12, 2006, 06:54:21 PM
Im curious how much  Ross is left here. i think Geoffrey Cornish changed some holes. Is it a solid routing with basic greens? does this course compare favorably with places like Alpine, Montclair, or Hackensack

Mark:

Don't have all the historical info at hand right now -- suffice to say -- Knickerbocker is on a tier below the likes of the courses you described. The grounds are nicely done and the holes provide a worthy challenge for all types of players.

In Bergen County you would have the likes of Ridgewood, Hackensack and Alpine as a clear cut above. In the same vein Knickerbocker is ahead of other private layots like Arcola, Edgewood and Montammy, to name just three.
