Title: Opinions on new course design by Brian Silva
Post by: Bob Konopacz on June 03, 2005, 12:53:09 PM
Next week I am playing in a tournament at Blissfull Meadows, designed by Brian Silva in 2000, located in Uxbridge, MA.  While I have read a lot on Silva's restoration work, any opinions on what features of interest that he designs in new courses to look for while I play the course?

I believe Brian had the major hand in the design of Acushnet River course outside New Bedford.  It is a fine Muni, with very good routing.  Few parallel holes except #1, #9, #10, & #18 - all at the starting gate.  Not a lot of land movement, but wisely done, and creatively accomodating quirky lies and stances.  Good variety of one shotters.
