The hole is about 350 yards. The fairway bunkers are only about 200 yards to clear from a high tee, but the wind in your face can make them a factor.
The hole is driveable, but rarely driven. The entrance narrows and rises a bit, and can feed a very long drive into the left collecting bunker.
The green has a pronounced double swell in the interior. It is difficult to get even a wedge close from the wrong angle. The swell will send balls towards the edges, especially the back.
A ball can be bounced through the neck, but the tee shot must be placed properly either right or left to open up the left or right sides of the green for this type of shot.
A steep shot that lands just beyond the right bunker, which is cut into a sloping ledge several feet above the green, is perhaps the best way to get onto the front right part of the green (which is not visible in the picture.) A ball that lands on this part of the green almost always hurries off the back right.
All putts break.
