Left hander playing Muirfield
« on: July 21, 2013, 04:10:47 PM »
After Phil's round today his caddy was interviewed on the BBC. He mentioned that on the range before their tee-off the wind was an awkward one for a left hander. That got me thinking, did the wind in the Open favour a left-hander more than a right hander ?

The wind on the range was probably hitting him in the back, not the chest. I don't think that would be the case on the golf course, given the nature of the routing.

Contrary to most Open venues, Muirfield has a circular routing for both nines, which creates many different hole directions and wind patterns.
Thus, it would be difficult to say that the wind favored a specific player since the routing sets up so many different shots across and with the general winds.

TW made a comment in his presser that led us to believe he did not like Muirfield.

But he is ready for the next WGC because he likes that course.
