The James Braid Golfing Society

Does anybody have information on this society?  I see there are two sites on the web.  Are they both the same society?

I contacted the above one and they replied they were basically a group of members of Braid clubs who played amongst themselves.  So why go on the web and why not just write to all the known clubs?

The other site is from 5-6 years ago and the provider doesn't seem to want to delete it. <thebraidsociety.com> is the correct address.
It is a limited membership social golfing group. The site is up primarily for the members to check activities.
