FBD & Slag B,

"The Dan" ;D is the most righteous band ever!  In fact, I opened this to read about N. Berwick, the first place I ever broke 80, (thoroughly beating my opponent, but losing 2 pints when we had a friendly wager on the Pit and Redan holes!) while listening to "Godwhacker" from their latest!  Kid Charlemagne is still my favorite!   :o

BTW, great photos!

A little more joy.  Enjoy.

The 4th, "Carlekemp" looking back from the 5th tee.

The short 6th - "Quarry"

A dicey pitch at the 7th - "Eil Burn"

The appealing one-shot 10th - "Eastward Ho!"

Self explanatory!

The 13th - "Pit"  Yours truly is short right of the stone wall.  I nifty pitch to six inches followed.  Anyone who has seen my short game knows what a miracle that was.

The 14th - "Perfection" A great position to drop from after hitting a double-cross onto the beach off the tee.

Self explanatory.

The Genuine Article

The 16th - "Gate"  From short right.

Closer

Yours truly was long right.  Hardly the garden spot.

From behind.

In the trench at 17 - "Point Garry (In)"  Approach is from right.

Flirting with OB and an insurance claim on 18 - "Home"

Regards,

Mike

FBD,

Will BP increase or decrease the value of the picture, do you think when he becomes an international golf architect hall a famer!?

 ???

On a serious note, I played there last week, (off of mats) and you brought back a few memories.  I didn't realise that the put on the 16th from front to back is actually dead straight..  did you?

JJSE.

That putt is indeed straight, every time.  The pics do not reflect the fact that the putt will swing back left as it departs the valley.  Was is designed that way, or merely happenstance?  One wonders.

Mike,

Looking back I see they were your pictures.  Thank you for posting them.

Judging by the rest of the first third and the last third of the course, I would say it is a designed feature - purely my own opinion but the quirkiness of designed elements is extremely consistent over all these holes don't you think?

I think a shot of the beach is good for the soul. The climb back up is not good for anything. Ah the links at N Berwick. I will be there again.
