Guys,

Thanks for putting this together. Here's where I am at this point.

I am going to be in Wisconsin Sept. 7-10th for the Eagles-Packers opening game.

Flying in and out of Milwaukee.

After much negotation, and no real great tee-times available, we are not doing Whistling this trip.

Instead, its going be Erin Hills and Lawsonia for us.

Tell me if this plan, which I've been concoting for the past few days sounds reasonable those Badgers that will be reading this.

Friday the 7th- Flight into Milwaukee around 9AM.

1 O'Clock tee time at Erin Hills.  Who, by the way offered some of the friedliest service I've experienced when booking a tee time, as well as the follow up email they sent.

Book a hotel somewhere in that Fox River Valley, Fond du Lac, Osk Kosh or Appleton for both Friday and Saturday nights.

Join the GCA gang (with 3 others if poss) for 18 holes on Saturday at Lawsonia.

Sunday, tailgate and game, then drive to Milwaukee and stay in Milwaukee before flight back early Monday morning.

There is a slight chance I may be able to make the Fish Fry, but probably not the golf at West Bend, as it looks like West Bend is somewhat close to Erin, especially if I'm going to be headed north anyway.

From all of the googling and google mapping I've done it seems like Fond du Lac may be the best place to stay.  Does anyone have any suggestions in that Fox River Valley(Appleton down to Fond du Lac) as to which is the best town to stay in and wil be the easiest from Erin to, out to Green Lake on Saturday and up to Green Bay on Sunday?

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few months.

Jason

any early line on this Iggle/Packer matchup??

I know one thing for sure, I will not be giving any shots to Mr Mandel this year.  Update that handicap Mandel.....you are like an 8!

Jason, as we spoke last evening, I think you are pretty much on track.

Here is one thing that I found out from Dan Moore today that might be a possibility.

Most of us will probably go to the 9 holes and fish fry at West Bend.  That is very close to ERin Hills.  You ought to drop in just for the fish after EH golf, then go to Lawsonia that evening after supper with the rest of us and stay in a cabin.

I didn't realise that the prices Dan has been quoting for those multi bedroom places on the Lawsonia grounds are for the whole building.  For instance, he said one of the places has 4 bedrooms with  2 double beds or 2 single beds in each.  When you split the price amongst the guys (if you fill it up) it is like 25-50 a night!  Cheapo, and right handy to the course.  Then if you want, you can play 36 for 89 bucks (Dan will post those details by Friday evening)  Then, you could join the evening dinner gathering, right there, sleep there again Sat night, and be on your way Sun morn.

Lawsonia is only 1.5 hours from Lambeau field.  I'd stay there through Sunday morning, and just leave for the tailgate party an hour and a half earlier.  Then, drive back to Milw., or near there for the last evening, and flight home Mon.

But, as we spoke of, I'd be very surprised if you got any motel room any close than Appleton for Sat night before the game.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

As Dick noted final details and registration instructions for the Golf Club Atlas Architectural Tour of Langford Moreau in  Wisconsin will be posted sometime on Friday.
