Yes, yes and yes.

The crux of this thread is that bias — however you feel about it — is widespread in GCA. Some bias is positive, some not so much.

As to the question of whether golf architects realize their bias tendencies...I would guess most do. Whether this causes reflection or betterment is a mixed bag. I prefer the Pete Dye philosophy of creating exciting designs and not worrying too much about what critics are going to say about them.
