Fellas, it's a gentlemen's game.  If my opponent offers his hand to me at the end of the round, I take it on faith that it's safe to shake, and I'd offer my hand likewise.  You've just got to bite the bullet and head to the locker room for a thorough washing (which you'd be doing anyway, since a round of golf makes the hands dirty anyway).

In the UK,  almost every wash room has those nail brushes to thoroughly clean your nails and hands.  Seems like a pretty good idea actually.

Also, in the UK,  it seems the club bars have quit using the common 'chips/nut' bowls at each table or at the bar because of sanitary concerns, ie,  every one sticking their fingers in the bowl,  something akin to the Seinfeld 'double dip of the chip'

as long as we're getting graphic, what % of guys don't wash their hands after urinating? i'd say a good 25-30%.  think about that the next time you're digging the last handful out of the jumbo office holiday carmel corn gift bucket.... :'(

When you think about it, you most important member has been wrapped under one or two layers of clothing all day while your hands have been into everything.  Shouldn't you really wash your hands before touching certain parts of your body?

Trust me, nothing hurts worse that having just chopped up a Jalapeno and then going to take a leak. :'(
