For anyone that knew and enjoyed Wolf Run GC in Zionsville, IN, take a look at the photos shown and the video embedded in the link below.


It's been quite a few years since the course closed and nature has made its way back in.

This is certainly a better fate than a scheme I saw shortly after the course closed where the space was littered with placeless suburban development. Indeed, I rather wish that more properties had a second life of similar nobility.

Like Steve I too thought the site's fate was housing. Nice to see it's not. And speaking of second lives of similar nobility - also in central Indiana is the NLE Riverside Golf Course, in downtown Indianapolis. Closed a few years ago just before the Covid golf boom it's in the process of being converted to a nature park/trail/whatever facility.


If you check out the Google Maps satellite view of the site you can still see evidence of golf course.


I can't help but wonder if someone who participated in the decision to close Riverside isn't regretting that due the current boom.
