« on: April 01, 2025, 07:43:03 PM »

Competitive golf at a high level is very demanding of ones time and focus. I’m surprised more players like Heck don’t check out, especially if they’ve been at it from age 5

Rare to see high performing individuals from certain demographics choose mil service even at the reserve level. Good on her.

What an impressive young lady! She knows what she wants and she can always change her mind.

She reminds me a lot of Mav McNealy.  An extremely accomplished golfer who has skills and interests outside of the game.  Obviously Mav chose golf (for now), but interesting to see her choose another route.

Certainly! And from what was revealed in the piece, the entire family is most impressive.

I am completely impressed with Rachel on all levels.  It is really inspiring and honorable to choose to serve your country over pursuing what would likely be a highly lucrative professional golf career.  She is obviously excited to serve in the Air Force and it is wonderful that someone this smart and talented is taking a leadership role.

There will likely be opportunities to continue her amateur career within the service, both representing the U.S. Air Force and through externally run events.  I hope that she prospers.
