Low end public Palm Springs golf courses (which still are north of $100). I belong to two private clubs in Minnesota. A third down here is beyond my means.
I really miss the pace of play but it is interesting to see what compromises with the courses have been made to handle public play and its highly variable economics, the differences in clientele and the fact that the game is still pretty fun regardless of venue.
Fortunately public tastes seem to vary from my view of what constitutes a good golf course. You can pay $100 for an inoffensive course with interesting greens or over $300 for a very mediocre golf course with nicer bottles of water and a more attractive beverage cart attendant.
