SPECIAL OFFER:

I was asked to donate a day for the auction again this year, but my calendar is so complicated that it’s hard to arrange a date, especially when the donor has put up $10k and thinks that makes them my boss.

But, I will do the same deal for one donor from the GCA forum.  You can make a site visit with me at Wild Springs Dunes this spring, and spend all day with team Renaissance and see how we work and ask all the questions you want.  We might even put you on a bulldozer if you’re ready to be embarrassed.

Open bidding starts now and ends 3/1 (only bids posted publicly on this thread will count).  Just send the check to Stan Kahn, and we can make the arrangements.  All for a very good cause.

In the spirit of getting the party started, I'll start the bidding at $2,000.

This is a great cause run by a great guy. I’ve hosted a bunch of bidders via this auction, who have all turned out to be great people too.

Bid: $5,000.

Thanks, Ira.

Since my offer doesn't really require me to do much, except visit with one of you, I've decided I will match the winning bidder's contribution.

So far John C. is costing me $5k, but anyone out there could put in a bigger bid and cost me more.  All for a good cause!

Great cause certainly.  I'll go 6k, but can't get there until June, so hope that is ok (certainly not a boss  ;) ).

Congrats to Jeff Schley for the winning bid.

Jeff, please email me about the prize.  I take it you are not in the USA much?  By June I am hopeful that all of the cool work at Wild Springs Dunes will be complete, in which case I will be on to other projects - perhaps Punta Brava, or the FL panhandle.

Please email me at doakgolf@aol.com and we will start trying to plan a visit.

I wanted to say thanks for doing this.

I wish I had the resources to practically make a competitive bid here. In researching the organization and cause, it seems that batten disease is one of many genetic diseases that could see huge progress with the amazing advent of CRISPR tech. Even very recent published research seem extremely encouraging. Certainly a worthy field of research, with the potential for outsized returns on investment.
