Alan Shipnuck had a good point recently... it certainly made sense to me.
His theory was that the PGA side was slow walking the deal knowing that Bryson and Brooks' contracts were up for renewal. Ergo the LIV side was going to get squeezed between paying two of its bigger stars 9 figures or seeing them potentially walk and lose value for their league, or settling in on a deal.
