A very ambitious course in concept, that many golfers would find very challenging to play and definitely not one they would want to play every day. I can see it ticks many boxes but not sure it obviously belongs in this list.

Lido is not on the Custodians. I believe mandatory caddies disqualify it, per the criteria.

I'm not saying Pine Valley as it's obvious and redundant.

So I'm going to nominate Saucon Valley ....it's the way they revere the game there. They promote caddies , they maintain three , yes three championship courses and still care that the hamburger at the outside grill is just perfect

Yep , love the place

Sorry…was referring to Matt’s proposal that it be on the list, rather than the list as it stands today

I'm not living there and haven't yet so don't have the full perspective.  My perspective is reading minutes and watching meetings.

There are definitely parallels.  That being said, I don't think the issues at Pinehurst stem from competing priorities.  The Dedman family owns Pinehurst so they're really the only ones setting the priorities at Pinehurst.  I know little about the Dedman family, but they kept Pinehurst when selling ClubCorp.  I like to think it's because the family loved everything about Pinehurst and understand history, competition and passionate locals invested in the courses/club are essential elements in the success of the resort.  I also assume they want to make money.

As a naive kid in my 20's I made a bet it would stay on the type of list the custodians represent.  Right now I am happy with that bet and hope it stays that way.

PS I know we share some less than ideal experiences, luckily there are some great ones as well.  On the positive side I did get to enjoy a real golf course today.  Unfortunately, with Ramadan starting soon its likely my last time while here.
