I just was texting Tommy and unfortunately the fires that are devastating the Los Angeles area have hit Tommy’s home. He has has lost everything.
I know Tommy has many GCA friends. I just thought many of you would like to know.

Really tough stuff. Best wishes from my direction. Things are just things, friends and family are what matter in life.

Unfortunately, it's becoming part of life more and more in CA. I hope everyone around here has a natural disaster plan in place with their friends and families.

Prayers for Tommy.  I think he is staying at his mother's house right now.

Please stay tuned for some ways to help. There are a couple of efforts underway and we will share those that are appropriate for this forum and make sure folks have contact information for those involved.

Tommy is on text currently, so IMO no need to wait to contact him with words of support.

Hi All,

As a long-time personal friend of The Emperor, I propose we use our collective efforts to start a GoFundMe page to assist Tommy in both his physical (recovery from a recent stroke), housing and material possession recovery.

I've donated to plenty, yet have never set one up and unfortunately have a crazy next 48hrs and thus unable to organize the fund. Would someone out in GCA land be willing to help out and get this started?

For those of you who know him, and those who haven't had the pleasure, Tommy Naccarato is wonderful person in so very many ways and a pure human gift to the pursuit of golf course history and architecture. Let's use GCA (with of course, the permission of Ran, Ben, Joe and Andrew) to help out one of its best people in his time of need.

Cheers!

So sorry to hear of the fires in LA affecting Tommy and many others. I am happy to support any program to help fellow GCAers.

Hi all, I’ve Gotten text from a number of you.
It would be great if we could coordinate, I know Adam Lawrence has taken point onone effort that we should probably concentrate efforts.
It’s late night in the UK, but I will make sure Adam shares the GoFundMe site that he and a couple of other people have already established.

Stay tuned and either I or Adam will post ASAP.
I’ll make sure we start a clean thread.

Jeez Judge and JK, wait for the Gofundme.  I haven't seen any ads here, but if there were, they would be pennies in value (if that).  Keep the discussion about how to help TN.

The situation in S. California is awful. Thoughts are with Tommy and everyone impacted. Recovery will be slow and the loss of property and (especially) life is tragic.

Devastating. Tommy is okay, but I dread to think what historical material has been lost.

Never met you Tommy but you have helped change my life.  No one has been more passionate on GCA than you.

Best wishes for recovery.
