Today, December 31st is the last day Augusta Municipal Golf Course, aka "The Patch" is open before closing for a year for a major ANGC-funded renovation by Tom Fazio and Beau Welling.
Last week I played there even though 9 holes were officially closed due to tree damage from the recent Hurricane, and I still "sort of played" about 14 of them and walked the others as very few folks were out there on a cold, damp day.
My question isn't about the future re-do, however. Back around 1999 it seems the city put some funding for a new clubhouse, parking lots, and other amenities that impacted the golf course, and a number of holes were changed, including the 18th. Does anyone know if any architects were involved in that effort? Thanks in advance for any information.
