I’m thinking of playing Lonsdale Links (twilight) & Curlewis on the 11th & 12th of January.

Drop a post here for anyone interested.

Lonsdale Links will be a surprise. A real hidden gem. Wish I could join.

I’ve been meaning to get to Curlewis for 5 years and to Lonsdale since it opened

Sean,

If you have time drop in to Queenscliff.  There are as many good holes there as Curlewis and it tends to be far less crowded.

I'll be doing exactly this in mid-March on a trip with Terry Thornton (and a couple of others), whilst basing ourselves in the 13th Beach precinct (Barwon Heads is undergoing accommodation upgrades).

Looking forward to seeing Queenscliff.

Thanks for the suggestion Brian. I’ll put Queenscliff on the list for next time. My daughter gave me a voucher for Curlewis so I better use it. She lives down in Geelong now so Queenscliff will be a good excuse to get down there again soon 😁

Also looks like my dates have shifted to 18 & 19

Sean,

My eldest is a member at Curlewis.  Let me see if he would like to host you and I that weekend.  Do you have a preference for which day is Curlewis?

That would be great if it fits Brian.

No preference for either day. Takes me probably 2.5 to get to Curlewis so probably not before 1030 on the Saturday. I’ll stay in Geelong on Sunday so more flexible there.

Daryl,
Had a great time. Played in a 1.5 to 2 club breeze and it was a joy. I’m also assuming, since it was and Easterly and they are rare in other parts of Victoria, that this was an atypical wind direction. You wouldn’t have known from how it affected the golf.

My favourite was that although there are some cavernous bunkers, by and large the interest & threat is maintained by interesting movement in the land and greens.

I played for the $75 twilight rate and easily fit in the 18holes. Wonderful value. I’d definitely play it again.
