Feature Interview with Andrew Harvie
Mike Nuzzo:
Congratulations Andrew! ..... and Ran, Ben, & Joe
Ira Fishman:
All well and good. And flattered to be quoted in the interview. But I read this as Ran stepping way back (he has earned it). I can read course reviews pretty much anywhere. Even as a relatively new poster, it is the DG that makes this place special. What are the plans for it?
Thanks.
Andrew Harvie:
Thank you ALL for a warm welcome! I've been on GCA for four years, but paid attention to the website far longer than that. I'm excited to fully dive in and really immerse myself here. It's an exciting time!

Ira, you make some good points with the Discussion Group being what makes GCA special, and I agree. We're working through it and have been trying to make improvements and upgrades (which some have commented on in other threads) to the Discussion Group and website simultaneously while adding new content. All are important, and all are a focus group.
As for Ran, I don't want to speak on his behalf but he is not stepping away from GCA (especially not way back). I'm not here to take Ran's spot, I'm here to compliment what he's already built and round out the offerings. This is still Ran Morrissett's website, and it will always be.
Ira Fishman:
Andrew,
Thank you for taking the time to respond. And as my post that you quoted indicates, I do think refreshing the articles, reviews, and interviews is a good development in large part because it might drive engagement on the DG. So I appreciate hearing that you plan on enhancing and focusing on the DG.
Ira
Simon Barrington:
Andrew, or do you prefer Drew?
Best of luck and I'm sure it will be a great project for you.
One thing as a newbie I think the DB (Discussion Board) needs to have is ease of posting Photos.
So we don't have to leave our cosy place of safety and open debate (assuming that is what it is, as sometimes that can be questionable! ::) ).
Cut & Paste or Drag & Drop don't mind, but I am (and from what I read others too) not a tech expert so the interface needs to be intuitive.
Sharing pictures is the key to great dialogue and debate, when we talk so much about visuals.
Cheers!
