New, Muscular GCA Look and Content-Add Suggestion Box?

Just when we start b!tch!ng, the great and powerful Ran goes and updates the look and the functionality. I can't wait to take it for a test drive.


My first observation: less is more. This is the direct result of social media impacting traditional web sites. No longer are ribbons of drop-down options needed. This is the mid-2020s, and a smaller menu is the norm. We do a few things efficiently.


My second observation: Drew Harvie. The peripatetic Canadian has been added to the advisory board. Hopefully, an announcement will be made to the reasoning. No complaint from me. His wanderlust has given us great insight into the course of his homeland. He is the Canuck Jon Cavalier, with more words.

Seems to be much more than a redesign/update. There is more content, most of which pre-produced and dated to yesterday. There are two contributors, one of whom is (according to his Instagram profile) the "managing partner" of GCA. And there's a clock ticking down to the publication of a podcast. And I've probably overlooked some stuff. Curious what else is happening behind the scenes!

Adding the dates back to the course review titles is nice, I missed that. When the website theme was red the courses by country page used to load much faster though.

The first, golf course suggestion box that I ever saw, was in a pond at Taconic Golf Club in Massachusetts. The dry irony was not lost on my teenaged self.

How challenging would it be, to add a digital suggestion box to a visible space on Golf Club Atlas? I imagine this would reduce public beefing on threads, assuming that the suggestions actually received some attention from the management.

I notice on the top menu bar, that a Members drop-down element has appeared. I notice that the abandoned number of posts is once again visible. I like this feature, if only for the bragadaccio potential.

Speaking of walks through time, I chuckled when I saw, under PROFILE >> MODIFY PROFILE >> FORUM PROFILE the menu options below. Could ICQ, et al., be replaced with contemporary social media handles?
