I have, after almost 70 years, been encouraged by she who must be obeyed to convert an unused guestroom into a retreat. With a lifetime of accumulated golfing meomentos in storage this will naturally morp from a mancave to golfcave.I have a friend in Albquerque with an impressively sized and accessorized haven. I also retain admiring, but moonshine fuzzed, images of our own most loved figure in golf's very comfortably organized and outfitted and decorated office in Southern Pines.Perhaps I am on a fool's errand but would any of you care to share what features reward the effort when one retires to such a space. Things such as Tom McWood's five foot shelf of golf books, ball or small eqipment displays cubbys, a campaign whiskey bar , particularly harmonious color themes, Jason Livy photos or Josh Smith paintings, hopefully accompanied by photo documentation. I just don't think the garden variety decorator is up to it. Is there a Martha Stewart analog for this kind of project out there?
"Golf is happiness. It's intoxication w/o the hangover; stimulation w/o the pills. It's price is high yet its rewards are richer. Some say its a boys pastime but it builds men. It cleanses the mind/rejuvenates the body. It is these things and many more for those of us who truly love it." M.Norman

Ward,
My room is all me!  It has things that remind me of the wonderful times I have had at all of the places that I have been fortunate to play and more importantly, the people that I have met and have become lifelong friends!!!
I have golf towels, balls, bag tags, scorecards, golf books and photos.  It is a mishmash, but it is it is all meaningful to me and since it is my GolfCave, that is what I think it should be.  I can go into the room and I start smiling immediately and remember all of the great times that I have had on golf courses around the world.  I would say make it all about you!!!

It sounds like a fun process. If it was me, I'd want a lot of cool artwork on the walls, golf course plans and things like that. For me, that would entail getting some of the very high resolution plans from the Olmsted Bros. archives and take them to a good print shop and get them printed on good quality paper, large format, and then maybe framed. There are a number of interesting courses available including Merion, ANGC, Fishers, Yeamans and a whole bunch more.
