Union League 2 Rounds
« on: November 05, 2024, 05:59:32 PM »
Have some crazy warm weather in New Jersey this week . I’m lucky enough to be playing Union League Liberty Hill in Philly tomorrow and Liberty Hill National Thursday . I haven’t played either course . What should I look for playing these? Thank you

Liberty Hill has played easier than it looks for me. The shore course I hope to play soon but I played nine of the new holes a couple of years ago and I wasn’t a fan of the artificial height added. But I understand that the other nine I didn’t play may be the best. Hope to play it soon.

Torresdale is easily my favorite.

Both are great. The Shore greens, i think , are over the top.

Can't wait to see what you think.
We have a pool and a pond, the pond would be good for you.

Played both rounds at Union League. Liberty Hill is a huge property with amazing elevation changes . You have plenty of room off the tee and the bunkering is reminiscent of Bethpage. The green complexes are large with some subtle breaks. National is a completely  different course . Visually it is stunning . The waste areas and sand bunkers along with the plants look spectacular. There is room off the tee but sometimes looks very scary. The big issue is the greens . They are also very large but tiered with crazy breaks and run offs. I honestly believe if the greens were more subtle you would be looking at a top 100 course in US. Still a very fun round however and 80 degrees in November !!
