Dream Golf (Keiser) to Florida panhandle
« on: October 29, 2024, 08:31:44 AM »

It looks like Dream Golf is coming to Florida!

https://washingtoncounty.news/2024/10/17/bocc-approves-new-hope-dunes-development-order/

Who will build the first course? Coore and Crenshaw? Doak? Or someone else.

How much sand is this area?

Possible timeline
Rodeo Dunes 2027
Wild Spring Dunes 2028
New Hope Dunes 2029

I just spent a few days in Rosemary Beach for Fall Break a couple of weeks ago.

The amount of $$ that has poured into that area since the pandemic has been enormous.

As you drive/ride around the area it's hard (for a golf nerd) to not notice the sand dunes and general sandy soil all over.

Granted I was 40 minutes away from New Hope so not sure what they are working with there but I'm assuming it's worthwhile.

The area is serviced by a couple of decent sized airports, plus it's 40 minutes from a number of dwellings with vacation residents that have $$ to spend and no existing golf that's even decent.

The one thing I can comment on here is that Wild Spring Dunes will be open before 2028.  We are clearing now and plan to sod the course in the summer of 2025.  It might be ready to play before the end of 2025 . . . but certainly by sometime in '26.

Welcome news indeed.  Golf in the area is pedestrian at best - we have a place in Seagrove and I don’t bother taking my clubs.  PCB airport is a breeze with Southwest and location will provide same day travel and golf to large population.

The only cloud on the Panhandle’s horizon  is the escalating cost and even availability of property insurance - a factor that should not affect the project.

I hope to be a regular.

The frequency and intensity of hurricanes in the Panhandle is an issue. Just sayin.

t is believed by some members of the community that the project, which has 80 acres allocated to the construction of a golf course, will impede traffic, water and sewer, and conservation.
Is this 18 holes regulation course or 9 hole/executive?  Can 18 holes be done in only 80 acres?

Oftentimes developers are required to post what area of land will be disturbed or irrigated.  I think that's where the 80 acres will have come from.
