Resurgence of Walnut Lane
« on: October 27, 2024, 06:15:40 PM »
With all the buzz about Cobbs Creek, lost in the shuffle is the incredible resurgence of Philly’s other municipal “gem” - Walnut Lane. Rounds have gone from 12,000 a couple of years ago to 36,000 this year, and there’s a new club house and learning center.
Credit goes to Philadelphia First Tee Executive Director Bill Hyndman V and board chairman (and former Philadelphia Open Champ) Mike Brown, who have quietly raised millions of dollars over the last several years. The Philadelphia First Tee program was recently honored as the nation’s most successful. Pretty cool.

Here is the first mention of Walnut Lane from Ran's Review in the early 2000s.
