And I played there about a year ago. Maybe this hole-by-hole photo tour will help your enjoyment of the tourney this week:

A very good course that was designed by Colt when the club moved to this location about 110 years ago.  It was significantly renovated in the last 3-4 years by Ebert and Mackenzie.  The course is set over a very good property with lots of ground movement and a serpentine creek winding through the course.

Andrew Harvie has done a few pieces on the course that are posted on Beyond the Contour:https://beyondthecontour.com/hamiltons-routing-the-genius-of-triangles/

Thanks, Wayne! We're doing an article a day right now for the Canadian Open considering the significance of Hamilton, and on Instagram, at least two posts a day diving into some of the better holes on the property (5 & 7 covered thus far), Colt's triangles, the interaction with Ancaster Creek, etc. Appreciate you sharing

Good article Jeff.  One thing that is kind of strange, that slightly goes against what you said in the article, is that Toronto GC has been consistently ranked in the top 10.  In the Score rankings it has only been in the top 10 once, in the most recent rankings in 2022.  Certainly it deserves to be in the top 10.  Toronto has typically been in the teens in the Score rankings.  But my understanding is that they don't play the rankings game.

I really like the look of all the contour and elevation change. It looks like a fun parcel of land to explore and perfect for a golf course. And the course looks like it would be fun to play. Great tour Joe!
