The Walter J. Travis Society hosted a google meet last Thursday, with architects Brian Ross and Jeffrey Stein as sole and featured speakers. They elaborated on their upcoming project at Jekyll Island Resort, in coastal Georgia. The affable Kevin Murphy served properly the role of master of ceremonies.

The WJTS plans to make this a monthly or bi-monthly event, depending on architect interest and availability. Many of Mr. Travis' courses have been preserved or restored, offering plenty of perspectives from working architects and restorationists.

The meets are open to members of the WJTS. Please visit our site at https://travissociety.com and join our ranks at https://travissociety.com/become-a-member/.

Membership dues will not break the bank, and we offer a #ThirtyUnderThirty option for the younger set.

Good morning, everyone.

I want to share this YouTube link with you. It takes you to the first Walter J. Travis Society (WJTS for short) Google Meet chat. We welcomed Brian Ross and Jeff Stein last month, to talk about their work at Jekyll Island. They will begin a Travis restoration and recreation this fall in Georgia, and we were thrilled with their presentation. The always-affable, Kevin Murphy, served as master of ceremonies.

For architects that work on Travis courses, and for superintendents that work at Travis courses, I would love to speak with you about being an invited guest for a future WJTS Google Meet chat. PLEASE DM/PM me here on GCA, to begin the conversation.

If you're wondering about compensation, well, let me quote scripture for you:

"Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

As always, please visit the WJTS site and consider joining our fun brigade. Hop on over to https://travissociety.com/ and begin the journey!
