Hi Ron-
I have played there a few times over the years in NYSGA championships. The first was the 1977 Junior Boys' and then again in the 1997 Mid-Amateur. The club has also hosted numerous other NYSGA championships. It is a club with a lot of history.
I remember it being a very difficult course, to say the least. The front nine basically goes up one side of a mountain and back down the other. Several holes are "single file only" with severely sloping greens that are typical on a hilly site. The back nine is a bit more tame and not quite as hilly.
I had always heard it was a Tillinghast course but I know there have been many changes, especially on the front nine. I believe many of the major changes were done before I played in that '77 Junior.
Wish I had more specific architectural info for you.....
