Going to play a few courses in Scottsdale and will be able to grab dinner a night or two . One of the better Mexican places Cocina Madrigal seems closed for a few days . Anyone have any good places of any genre to try ?

Dick’s Hideaway was loved by everyone I know who has been there over the last couple decades, but I haven’t been there in about ten years.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at this tiny hidden gem of a restaurant. Rustic yet casually upscale, it’s the kind of place locals bring visitors from out of town for an authentic taste of traditional New Mexican cuisine. Although the menu includes great burgers, salads, steaks and fresh fish, the real treasures are from The Santa Fe Trail. Try the roasted garlic platter, bacon wrapped shrimp or carne adovada, smoked pork slow-simmered in red chile.
I'm not a fan of " traditional New Mexican cuisine" but  their burgers and fish entrees are very good.

Patsy Grimaldi's has really good pizza - the one in Scottsdale north of the loop just smells great when you walk in the door. I don't know where you're coming from but being from the NY area I can tell you that Chompie's is a very good deli.

From my times in Scottsdale, none of these disappoint:

Italian - Spiga Cucina

Mexican/Asian Fusion - SumoMaya

Cool Vibe - The Vig on Bell Road

Upscale Mexican/Peruvian - La Hacienda at the Fairmont Princess

Peruvian - The Mission at Kierland or Old Town

Traditional Steakhouse - Prestons
