I will say this (and that) about Coachella Valley golf:

I have played dozens and dozens of courses out there but recently have missed some of the most exclusive of them.

What I can say is that Clive Clark's course at The Hideaway is among my favorites -- and I only played 10 or 11 holes (it was late in the day and and we had to rush around to finish. Quite atypical in that it definitely has some holes that feel very "non-deserty," which is great. In particular, there's a par 5 "Alps" with a giant mound in front of it that you either have to negotiate by going over, or you have to play around and to the left. Loved it.
