Lost Links of the Main Line @ Bala GC Dec 21 + Cobb's tour + golf

More concrete details to follow, but the planets are aligning for a presentation entitled "Lost Golf Courses of the Main Line" by yours truly and Pete Trenham.

It is being hosted by Bala Golf Club as part of an upcoming celebration of their 125th anniversary.

It will be held on Thursday, December 21 at Bala GC. Tentative start at 5:30 PM.

I wanted to get this info out there and will update this thread as more info becomes available in terms of how to register for the event and any possible golf beforehand.

P.S. I think a special appearance by The Lurker is likely.

It is also possible that Cirba and yours truly will give a walk-around of the Cobb's Creek property before the talk (and probably before the golf at Bala if that materializes) as things are moving along there nicely. I visited CC recently and what I'm seeing is breathtaking. Really.

And the superintendent at Cobb's will likely be attending the 'Bala Bash', too.

Subject to availability of tee times, golf is possible at Bala for non-member attendees in the early afternoon. The weather forecast is favorable currently.

If you are interested in golf, reply directly in this thread!

If you are a lurker to GCA, contact me by e-mail (my addy is easy to find online!) if interested in either the tour of Cobb's and/or the golf at Bala.

The situation is fluid but is starting to firm up with a simply world-class day of festivities:

1. Late morning tour of the current work at Cobb's Creek GC, then,

2. Golf at Bala early afternoon.

3. The "Lost Links of the Main Line" (luv the 'literation!) gathering starting at 5:30 PM.

As of this morning, 25 people have registered for the 'Bala Bash'. Let's keep it going. Call or e-mail Bala using the info in an earlier post to register for the Lost Links gathering at 5:30.

As of this morning, we are at 33 people registered. I expect it to get to a cozy 50, sort of like the Barn Fests I organized at The Lurker’s place many years ago.
