I played Del Monte this past week and in researching the design evolution came across the fact that another common spelling of his last name in news reports was "Maude". Also, his middle name abbreviation was "E", for search engines that require exact precision.
It also seems the first course at Del Monte (opened in 1897) was designed by early SFGC (at Presidio) pro William Robertson, from Scotland, not Maud/Maude, although it's likely he contributed to the course's early evolution.
