For whatever results at the Arizona Biltmore, we will congratulate Forrest.

But for getting a toe-hold into the realities of the business, and actually working in the field on your passion, we congratulate YOU, Sir Thomas.  That's what has us excited, methinks (there I go speaking for other people again.. sorry...).  The exact wheres, whys and what fors are kinda secondary.

Thanks Tom, It certainly is something I REALLY enjoyed doing, and hope for the opportunity again.

Tommy is being modest!  I happen to know Forrest quite well and I know Tommy has been a big help to him!  I've been around a lot of architects and people interested in golf course architecture and I don't have to tell this group that Tommy is passionate about this stuff and willing to take the time to do the necessary research to help make sound decisions in a restoration.  He knows quite a bit.  You can call him what you want, a golf course architect, a design consultant or simply someone who has extensively studied golf course design, but what ever you call him I can tell you he is a good resourse for a restoration project.

I look forward to seeing the finished course next time I'm in AZ.

Tommy;
Congrats as well!
I believe many of us share my envy of your being able to take a passion and find ways to start making it a vocation.
Best,
Chip

Tommy owes no one any apologies for the title. One thing is certain: I've met about 150 golf course architects in the past 20+ years...and I can attest that Tommy deserves the title more than many!

Obviously Tommy doesn't have a full and robust technical background or turf science understanding — nor does he yet believe there are devilish personas who come to meetings and sites armed with hypodermics full of dumb drugs, each waiting to inflict their shot at just the wrong moment. But these realities and knowledge will come to him, gradually.

(And for those such as Mark who wish to see the finished "reclamation", please do so post 2004 when we hope to have most of it mopped up.)
