Anybody know anything about this place?  From the pictures it looks somewhat American.  Adare Manor-ish??  Is it worth a stop?

I have been there. Course has two distinct styles.

Half of it sits low, has lots of water in play, some occasional views of the loch.
That section looks and plays like a Modern style course.

The other half is pretty good, set on high rolling land. More Heathland in style.
I did like the use of sod walls for the bunkering, I assume its still like that.

With every golf development bubble, the end was unexpected and brutal....

It's been a number of years since I played it but from what I recall I enjoyed it although it is indeed fairly modern in scale and some of the shaping. It's maybe not what you cross an ocean for but worth a play if in the area.

If on the other hand you were looking to play an old fashioned inland course then perhaps not one to go for.

The White River runs dark through the heart of the Town,
Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.

Yes indeed, Harry Lauder would be burling in his grave.
