Read somewhere that Sam Snead in poor weather conditions once putted the ball from the tee, down the path and onto the green. True or a tall tale?

It would be quite memorable, I played under those conditions and worse in Ireland
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

When I played my 1,000th course at Muirfield in 2015 with 2 fellow GCA-ers the winds were over 50 mph for all 36 holes.  Memorable indeed.
