One of my favorite courses (for the unspoiled setting) is "temporarily" closed. At some point in recent months this news was added to the Warner Springs (CA) website: "...an additional 'Johnny Miller-inspired 9 holes' for the future":

When I lived in SD I never thought it was worth the drive and I doubt an extra nine holes will help it. Never met a single golfer in SD that said it was worth a play.
