Oakland Hills….anything new?

Has anyone heard how they are doing after the club house fire?


Any plans on the rebuild?

Just to get things started, I’m fairly certain the decision was made to rebuild a replica, at least as it appears from the outside. They certainly will not have it for the US Junior next year.

There's quite a bit of dissension on the clubhouse among the members.  I'm told that the burned building is still standing there with a fence around it.

The demolition of the existing structure is fenced and taking an unusual amount of time due in large part to the asbestos protocols in place.

As of last week demo to grade done, some basement level work to do.


Only bit of interior news for the new building is that there will be tunnel under the building from the practice area to the first tee.  They currently take you around the clubhouse through the parking lot to the first tee.  Now that's unique!
