I'll be playing Kissimmee Bay CC tomorrow morning so I naturally looked up the architect. These guys look like cool dudes. Has anyone played their work or specifically KBCC?

I've played Westchase, Stoneybrook East and Mt. Dora CC, all of which I'd describe as utilitarian although I'd say that Westchase was the best of the three.

BTW, interesting idea of theirs to list their projects two or three times. Really pads out the list.

The multiple listings look like a clerical error.

Seeing that most of their work is geared towards an older membership isn't utilitarian exactly perfect? I am sensing a genuine commitment to long term value in their work.

Played Kissimmee Bay this morning and fun was had by all. We were rained out after 15 and have this one glaring observation. I'm very impressed with the unusual handicapping of holes:

https://greenskeeper.org/central_florida/Orlando_Vero_Beach/kissimmee_bay_country_club/scorecard.cfm

It goes:

3 - 12 - 1 - 14 - 13 - 9 - 7 - 16 - 5
18 - 4 - 11 - 17 - 6 - 2 - 15 - 10 - 8

As I told my buds...There must be some gamblers at this place to go to enough trouble to get the handicaps just right.

The club drained extraordinarily well. I paid for golf for two including carts $82. I had spent $70 for drinks as we stood on 10 tee. Somebody had to make some doubles, might as well been the bartender. Great spot if you like real people and strong drinks.

John, we played KBCC around thirty years ago, during one of our many Orlando/WDW trips. Happy days. Don't really remember much about it, unfortunately. Lots of water! Just one of many we used to play along the 192 corridor. Quite a few NLE around there now.
I will have a scorecard in a box somewhere, though.

On the way out I saw a subdivision whose main entry road was Sophie's Way. Didn't they have a choice? I love quasi affordable Florida.

I was just looking at the course on Google Earth. Lee Janzen Drive. Ha!

JK - I played Kissimmee Bay for the first time about a week ago. Also $41 per player. The morning we were there the guy in the golf shop was also the bartender. I assumed they were operating on a limited budget. The course was fine and felt older than its 30 years. A few of the early holes could use some tree removal and we found the bunkers did not drain very well. Many of them were mostly mud after the prior night's rain.  Did you take a look at the mini "museum" they have in the clubhouse? Lots of early 20th century postcards of courses from all of the 48 states and GB&I, training aids from the 1920's-50's, old news clippings, old clubs etc.

Here's a link to photos of the course from last week.

MB, while there is water in view on 11 holes, unlike many Florida courses, on a lot of the water holes at KBCC I felt as if the water was there more for the look or to make one second guess a heroic shot rather than posing a serious threat of a lost ball for the average player.  Really bad shots would be wet but half way decent shots could pretty easily avoid the water for the conservative player (unlike, for example Hawks Landing where almost every shot is an invitation to lose a ball in the water).
